The 2019 Subaru Forester is a midsize SUV that stands out for its balance of practicality, comfort, safety and all-terrain capability — a great fit for Kenyan roads, whether you’re commuting in town or heading upcountry. Its design combines a rugged SUV stance with refined touches, giving it a presence that’s both functional and stylish. The tall cabin, large windows, and raised driving position help provide excellent visibility and a sense of spaciousness.
Under the hood, the 2019 Forester uses a 2.0-litre (or in some markets a 2.5-litre) horizontally-opposed “boxer” petrol engine, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and full-time all-wheel drive as standard. This powertrain gives a smooth, steady delivery of power — enough for everyday driving, long trips, and light off-road use. The all-wheel-drive system and good ground clearance make it especially capable on rough roads, muddy tracks, or weather-challenged surfaces, giving confidence on Kenya’s varied terrain.
Inside, the cabin offers generous space for five occupants, with comfortable seating, good headroom, and a layout that balances practicality and comfort. The cargo area is generous and the rear seats fold down easily to expand storage — useful whether you’re transporting family luggage, shopping, or cargo. Comfort and convenience features such as automatic climate control, a user-friendly infotainment interface, and optional amenities like heated seats and power tailgate add to the everyday usability and make long journeys more enjoyable.
Safety is a major strength of the 2019 Forester. All-wheel drive, a rigid chassis based on a modern global platform, plus a suite of safety systems give peace of mind on busy city roads and rough up-country tracks alike. Standard safety equipment typically includes multiple airbags, ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, stability and traction control, and often Subaru’s advanced driver-assist technologies such as pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping aids — excellent for unpredictable traffic and road conditions.
On the road the Forester feels composed and stable. The suspension strikes a good balance between comfort and control, smoothing out bumps while maintaining handling composure. Steering and ride quality are predictable, and the all-wheel-drive system adds traction when needed — whether that’s during rainy seasons, on gravel roads, or when navigating potholes. For daily commuting, family travel, or weekend adventures, the Forester delivers a reliable and confident driving experience.
Overall, the 2019 Subaru Forester is a well-rounded SUV that offers versatility, safety, comfort, and all-terrain capability — a smart choice for Kenyan drivers who want a dependable vehicle capable of handling both urban life and more demanding journeys without compromise.
