Under the bonnet, the GLS 400d is powered by a 3.0-litre straight-six turbo diesel engine that delivers around 330 PS (≈ 243 kW) and 700 Nm of torque. It uses a nine-speed automatic transmission and full-time all-wheel drive (4MATIC), which give the SUV strong pulling power and stability—useful when navigating steep inclines or towing loads.
